The
Morgan Horse Club of Southern California was established to promote the Morgan breed, bring together
all those interested in the breed and to maintain the standards of the breed. The Club does this through the many activities
held throughout the year and through the bi-monthly newsletter "
The Crystal Chronicle". The
Club is closely affiliated with the
American Morgan Horse Association and is a member of their Region VII.
The major activity of the Club is the annual
June Classic Horse Show
held the first weekend of June at the Pomona, CA, horse show facility at Fairplex. Other activities include
other horse shows for points, scheduled (and some not scheduled) rides throughout the southern California area and monthly
meetings with the Board, usually at a member's home.
The Club publishes an annual roster of members and their
horses including e-mail addresses.
A premium for the annual horse show is published in March of each year and includes
the classes offered and show application forms. This is widely distributed throughout Region VII, California and neighboring
states.
The bi-monthly
"Crystal Chronicle" is sent to all members. It is very
informative with articles on health, care and training your Morgan, as well as stories about members and their activities
and lots of good old humor, including the antics of trailblazers, Thelma and Louise.
All Club publications
include membership application forms and describe the classes of membership offered. There is no requirement to own
a Morgan horse to become a member.
